Skin Demon - The Blog of Jeremy Garrett - New York City's Best Custom Tattoo Artist

My New Seattle Tattoo Artist Studio

Finally got a picture of my new tattoo studio.  It took me a while, but what can I say, I've been busy.  Busy trying to get the word out, printing new business cards and stickers, building a new website, dealing with communist power tripping assholes at reddit, etc.  Anyway, here's where all of the tattooing body possession happens.  Almost the same set up as my NYC studio, but a little cozier.

Tips for setting through long tattooing sessions

I have been tattooing 23 years and I mostly do large pieces.  Believe it or not, the vast majority of my clients sit at least 4 hours.  Actually, I've found most can only realistically do 4 to 5 hours, unless they are superhuman.   Most folks endorphins are depleted after that.  Their pain tolerance starts to break down and they start fidgeting uncontrollably.  The longest tattoo session I've ever done was a grueling 11 hour session.  It was hard as hell for the both of us.

Being the tattoo geek that I am, I've done a lot of research on this topic and have spoken to several doctors about this.  Here is the advice I give my clients:

The Birth of Washington Custom Tattoos - A NYC Tattoo Artist's Journey to the PNW

July 1st, 2015, my family and I did actually end up leaving New York City.  We relocated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.  It took me a year to settle in and find a nice studio.  Now I'm operating out of the First Hill section of Seattle.  I have since transformed from Gotham's Inkslinging Superhero to America's Inkslinging Hero.  One step closer to my ultimate goal of moving to Alaska, if I can convince the wife to go with me.

Be sure to check out my new website Washington Custom Tattoos. If you're in the Seattle area and are in the market for a rock solid, 100% Made in America custom tattoo then email me for an appointment.

To all my NYC fans, I hope you will keep in touch and come see me for you next tattoo in the Evergreen State.  I understand not all of you will be able to make the trek out here and if that is the case, John Reardon, Paul Booth and Anil Gupta are the only artists in the NYC area that that I feel comfortable recommending. Their styles are distinctly different but they are all top notch artists with a couple of decades experience each.

Skin Demon - The all New Demonic Tattooing Blog

I started building websites back in 94 and the first I started with was NYARTMAN.com.  It became my main tattooing website.  As much as I love New York City, I knew I would end up moving out of state and that domain would end up being too specific and possibly end up restricting my overall tattooing brand.  For this reason, I designed this site with the idea that it would represent me, Jeremy Garrett - tattoo artist extraordinaire and general super genius, on more of a national scale.  Being the busy little tattooing demon that I am, had little time to invest in this site.  I let it stagnate, fester and finally become virus ridden until it's heart stopped beating.  But demons don't die.  They are part of the eternal spirit. They transform and shape shift.  What better way to transcend Skindemon.com than by evolving it into my very on string of conscious, demonic, tattooing blog.  Let the mind bending, terrifying, inkslinging, blogging begin.
